Message from Organizing Chair

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

It is with great honour and pleasure that I extend to you a cordial invitation to the PTCOG-AO 2026 conference, to be held from 4th to 6th September 2026 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

This gathering represents a landmark moment in the evolution of particle therapy across the Asian-Oceanic region. As India enters a transformative era in advanced radiation oncology, Chennai provides an ideal setting to examine the challenges and opportunities in delivering precision cancer care.

The theme "Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Healing" reflects the synthesis of heritage and innovation that defines both our host city and particle therapy.

Our scientific program addresses the full spectrum of particle therapy practice—from clinical protocols and physics innovations to accessibility, facility design, and cost-effectiveness.

Chennai offers an exceptional venue with world-class cancer care, modern infrastructure, and a serene environment along the East Coast Road.

I eagerly anticipate welcoming you to Chennai this September.

Chair person Message

Message from the Chair of PTCOG-AO

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Asia Oceania Particle Therapy Cooperative Group (PTCOG-AO), it is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to PTCOG-AO 2026 in Chennai, India.

In our region, more than half of the world’s cancer patients reside, and this number continues to grow. Alongside this trend, particle therapy facilities have been expanding rapidly, offering new hope and advanced treatment options to an increasing number of patients.

At the same time, our region presents unique challenges and opportunities—certain cancers are more prevalent in Asia and Oceania, and even globally common malignancies often exhibit distinct genetic and clinical characteristics. These realities highlight the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and building a strong regional network to advance particle therapy.

PTCOG-AO 2026 will provide an exceptional platform for multidisciplinary exchange, bringing together experts in clinical oncology, medical physics, and biology. Through active discussions and collaboration, we aim to accelerate innovation and improve patient care across the region.

Chennai, one of India’s leading centers for medicine, science, and education, offers an inspiring setting for this meeting. With its rapidly advancing healthcare infrastructure and vibrant cultural heritage, the city provides a unique opportunity to experience both cutting-edge innovation and rich tradition. I warmly encourage you to join us—not only to share the latest scientific developments, but also to experience the energy and hospitality of this remarkable city.

I sincerely hope that this conference will strengthen our friendships and collaborations, inspire new ideas, and ultimately contribute to better care for our patients—both now and in the future.

I very much look forward to welcoming you to Chennai, India, for PTCOG-AO 2026
